Groups

We’re offering some exciting options for the summer. We’re taking a break from our usual weekly tabletop groups to offer two camps, individual workshops for youth (including one focusing on game mastery!) and for the first time we’re offering parent workshops! Read on below, and as always, if you have any questions send us a message via our contact page.

Parent Workshops

Game to Grow’s Parent Workshops are hosted at the Game to Grow conference room in Kirkland.

Game to Grow

Kirkland, WA 98034

Intro to Dungeons and Dragons FOR PARENTS!

Date/Time: July 12, 6 – 8pm
Price: 40$
Many of you have wondered what exactly a game of Dungeons and Dragons looks like. Your child may not be very clear about what exactly goes on in our groups! Come to this workshop to get a sample of what Dungeons and Dragons is all about, learn why we play it in our groups, and get a chance to play a little D&D yourself. We especially recommend this if your child is attending the Intro to Game Mastery Workshop, so you can play together!

Video Games in the Home

Date/Time: July 26, 6 – 7:30pm
Price: 20$
Video games have become a common part of our culture, and many parents are concerned about which games their children are playing, how long they should be playing, and how to set appropriate limits. Come to this workshop to learn more about what games your children are playing, why they are so interested in those games, and how to build positive family culture around setting limits and talking about games in the home.

Family Game Night

Date/Time: Sept 6, 6 – 8pm
Price: 30$*
Why should the kids have all the fun? Come to this workshop with your children and learn a new game you can play with your family. We’ll select some great pro-social games you can play as a family.
*Price is per person.

Kirkland, WA 98034

Intro to Game Mastery

Date/Time: July 19, 6 – 8pm
Price: 60$
In our regular games, facilitators Adam Davis and Adam Johns serve as game masters. Many of our players have been asking how they can learn to be game masters so they can play with friends or with their family. This workshop will help equip players who are new to game mastering to take on this role, teaching them the important skills needed to be a game master for others.

Board Game Night

Date/Time: August 2, 6 – 8pm
Price: 60$
Much like last summer, at this group a facilitator will lead the group in an intentionally selected board game to help participants connect with each other, build skills, and have fun. Games will be chosen based on the participants who register.

Mario Kart 8 Tournament (with Pizza!)

Date/Time: August 16, 6 – 8pm
Price: 60$
We have a Nintendo Switch! Come to this event to play Mario Kart, eat pizza, and connect with friends. We’ll help participants play for fun, support each other, and maybe even win a prize!
