Historically, most of our social skills groups have been structured using tabletop role-playing games like Dungeons and Dragons. However, our mission is to use games of all kinds for positive growth, and we’re happy to be launching some new programs for the fall.
The first we’re happy to announce is a 10-week group using the popular collectible trading card game Magic: The Gathering to teach mindfulness skills. Players will use the naturally social and rewarding structure of Magic to build skills around responding effectively to bad luck and difficult decisions. The group will help participants build a skill set that will help them directly in the game while also being transferable to other areas of life. We’re excited about the potential for this new program in the fall!
